9/11 Activities for the company
By Wagontown Fire Company
September 11, 2026
On Friday morning the crews went up to the Kings Highway Elementary school to attend their 9/11 memorial service. Upon arrival crews were met by the School Principal Mr. Graham, he reviewed the mornings events and asked Chief Ziegler to read a short piece on remembrance of that fateful morning. Then School Officer Ghee read a piece on what it meant to be a hero. Once the ceremony was completed the children went back to school and we cleared kings Highway.
The company then went to Coatesville and arrived as the last bells were rung for those who perished on 9/11 in the attacks. Crews then toured the memorial site and the museum on the property of what was Lukens Steel. Lukens manufactured the steel that held up the world trade center buildings. During our visit the crew was presented with a shirt from a person who was in New York during the attacks. The shirt has been preserved in our memorial case in the fire station.
The day was focused on remembering what transpired on September 11th 2001.
