On Tuesday afternoon at 13:18 hours the company along with Mutual Aid was dispatched to the 200 Block of Martins Corner Rd. for a reported barn Fire. On Arrival a large barn with smoke sowing was reported and Engine 35 arrived and laid 800' of 5" hose into the scene leaving the driveway open for Ladder 41 which was followed by Engine 76 who laid an additional supply line over 700'. Crews mounted an offensive attack on the barn fire and crews then encountered some building issues in which crews were withdrawn from the attack.
Tanker 35 supplied the scene and the Honey Brook Fire Company established a draft site south of the fire from the creek supplying the scene and Tanker 35. Additional tankers were used to supplement the additional hose lay from Engine 76 supplying additional hose lines on the fire.
An additional fill site was established at the Pope John Paul School for the tankers and then was subsequently shut down as the draft site was supplying the scene with no issues.
Crews then worked to extinguish and overhaul the fire, outstanding team work prevented this fire from becoming much worse. Companies cleared the scene just after 17:30 hours to return and clean up all the equipment.
Thank you to all who provided pictures, and thank you to all the assist companies who were on point to make this fire go smoothly. |
