On Wednesday evening members gathered for the weekly training session, this week was Rapid Intervention Team training. RIT as it is known is training that specializes in ways to rescue a fellow firefighter who has become trapped, lost or otherwise incapacitated on the fire or incident scene. This requires refresher training as well as the initial training firefighters receive. This week members reviewed tool selection for the RIT team, Review and practical sessions with our FAST Board and our RIT SCBA equipment that we carry. The previous week we focused on search and rescue and as we do these trainings all are designed to build upon what was previously learned.
