Over the course of the last few months, Scout Daniel Tracey has been working to achieve his rank of Eagle Scout in Troop 117 of the Good Shepherd. The Rank of Eagle Scout has many challenges which are designed to see if the Scout has what it take to represent the Rank of Eagle. This is a prestigious honor that one has to work to achieve.

Last Year working with then Chief Ziegler and the staff of the Hibernia Park, Daniel set out to restore the ability of the fire department to utilize the dry hydrant systems in place at the Hibernia Park. These systems are designed to be utilized by fire department apparatus to draft water from in the case of a fire. These hydrants had become over grown and inaccessible due to vegetation growth around them.

Daniel set up numerous work details to clean, open up and repair said Dry hydrants and restore access to these so that in the case of an emergency these could be accessed and used in a timely and efficient manner.

This project has been completed and the residents of West Caln and surrounding areas can rest at ease as the ability to draw water in an emergency has been made possible by this young mans quest for the rank of Eagle Scout.

Daniel a job well done and you have restored the fire safety abilities to many residents and Thank you for you time and effort and thank you to those who assisted you in completing this task.
