February 12, 2019

On Monday afternoon at 13:45 hours the Company along with mutual aid was dispatched to the 700 Block of W. Kings Hwy. for a reported house fire. County fire radio advised of smoke in the attic. Battalion Chief Sly (44) arrived and confirmed an electrical fire in the attic with smoke from the roof line.

Engine 44-5, Engine 35 and Ladder 41 arrived with crews going to work to locate the source and begin to extinguish the fire. Crews secured the power to the residence and began opening the ceiling and attic floor to locate the fire that was smoldering in the insulation.

PECO was requested to the scene as well as the Chester County Fire Marshals Office to handle the power and investigation needs of the incident.

Crews cleared the scene around 16:00 hours.

Special Thank you to Irisheyez Emergency Service Photography for the pictures of the incident.

Thanks so much to everyone for your service. My parents said the fire department arrived in two minutes and that everyone was great! It's a hard time for everyone but you made it much better.
